Fees & Frequently Asked Questions
Starting therapy or exploring an ADHD evaluation can bring up a lot of questions. This page covers therapy fees, insurance, scheduling policies, ADHD evaluation pricing, and some of the questions I hear most often.
I currently accept the following insurance plans:

All other plans: Insurance benefits vary by plan, so I will need to verify your coverage directly before we begin. This allows me to confirm your benefits, including any copay, deductible, or other out-of-pocket costs.
If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement amounts vary by plan.

50 minute individual therapy session — $140
30 minute individual therapy session — $75
Private-pay services are available at the rates listed above. Reduced-fee appointments may be available on a limited,case-by-case basis, depending on financial need and therapist availability. If you are interested in learning more, please contact me.
Insurance Accepted
Scheduling & Cancellation
A 24 hour notice is requested for cancellations or rescheduling.
Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full session fee. Missed appointments and late cancellation fees are not covered by insurance and are the client's responsibility.
If you are running late, please reach out as soon as possible. Sessions will still end at the scheduled time.
ADHD Evaluation Options
I offer two ADHD evaluation options depending on the level of documentation you’re looking for. Each option includes a comprehensive clinical evaluation, review of questionnaires and clinical information, and a feedback session. ADHD evaluations are a private-pay service and are not billed through insurance.

Evaluation Policies
Because ADHD evaluations involve multiple components, completed questionnaires, scoring, and scheduled clinical time, the scheduling and cancellation policies differ from ongoing therapy sessions.
A 50% deposit is required to reserve an evaluation appointment. The remaining balance is due on the date of the clinical interview.
Required questionnaires and paperwork should be submitted as soon as possible. While everything does not have to be completed before your evaluation appointment, missing or incomplete materials may delay completion of the evaluation and delivery of your report.
Additional scheduling, cancellation, rescheduling, and payment details will be reviewed before the evaluation is booked.
ADHD Evaluation: A Few Things to Know

ADHD evaluations are available for adults age 18 and older.

ADHD testing is offered in person in San Antonio and virtually throughout Texas.

ADHD evaluations focus specifically on ADHD and are not full psychological or neuropsychological assessments.

I do not prescribe medication, but referral options can be discussed when appropriate.

Additional documentation for accommodation requests is outside the standard evaluation documentation and may be subject to a separate fee.

Your Rights, Health Records & Complaints
In accordance with Texas Health and Safety Code Sec. 181.105, Lumora Counseling PLLC provides the following information regarding your access to protected health information and the process for filing complaints.
Requesting Your Health Records
You have the right to request access to or a copy of your health records. To request your records, please submit your request in writing by email or mail.

If you have concerns about your care or the handling of your health records, you are encouraged to contact Lumora Counseling PLLC first at bianca@lumora-counseling.com or 210-526-1239 so we can attempt to resolve the issue.
You may also file a complaint regarding the privacy of your health records with the Texas Office of the Attorney General.

Required Notice
The Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council investigates and prosecutes professional misconduct committed by licensed professional counselors and other behavioral health professionals. Although not every complaint against or dispute with a licensee involves professional misconduct, the Executive Council will provide information about how to file a complaint.
